Yes.


Paper filtration generally allows less fine particulate and lipid material into the cup, creating a cleaner texture and substantially lowering cafestol and kahweol compared with unfiltered or many metal-filtered methods.


Metal filtration generally creates more body and may leave some sediment. The difference is a tradeoff in cup profile and composition—not proof that one filter is universally better.
